Those that know say you shouldn't provide easy access to your fees; the reasoning being that, all other things being equal, people will tend to choose the least expensive service. I suspect that may well be true. But all other things are rarely equal when you're choosing a photographer. Good photography is an investment in something that will last well beyond the event itself, something that will help you cherish the captured moments, something to remember.
Fees are based on creative and on-site times, post-capture services, and print options ordered. In order to customize kinderpics services to your desires, David encourages a conversation with you to discuss just what you'd like to have, and prices are set accordingly. That said, you'd like to have a general idea of what fees are so here are some guidelines and examples.
Location photo session fee start at about $150 for an hour or so together -- enough time for a few locations in the same area and outfit changes for head shots and senior photos as needed to get a few different looks. We'll chat for a bit beforehand to learn more about what you'd like so you'll end up with a personalized session. What locations you ask? Well, typically this is around your home or a nearby park -- ideally outside if the weather is accommodating. A small travel fee is added if outside the Portland metro area.
This fee includes hosting an online password-protected gallery of proof images for you to review. Light retouching of your favorite images is included in all print packages. For head shots, print packages can include 8x10 formatting, and adding your name on or outside your image (my personal preference). Senior photo packages can include adding your name and graduation year, multi-image display folios, wallet-size prints and more. Family portrait print packages can include beautiful ready-to-hang mounted (framed or frameless) prints.
Capturing live theater performance photos is one of my favorite activities, to the point that I squirm in my theater seat when I watch a performance and don't have a camera in my hand thinking, "If I were just standing over there I could get a great shot of the actors." I've worked with local Portland professional theater companies as well as high school drama teachers to get them wonderful rehearsal, performance archives and publicity photos. I've also worked with area children's theater groups both on the stage and in outreach venues. Fees and are negotiable, based on services, time, and the company's budget.
David has experience capturing important, and not-so-important moments at corporate-sponsored events, auditorium lectures, conferences, VIP facility tours, trade shows, awards banquets and more. Photos of podium presenters, audience-filled halls, visitors interacting with show staff, and overall building and event coverage are all recorded discreetly and without flash if required. Creative fees are billed at an hourly rate with a two-hour minimum. Image licensing fees are negotiated depending on use (e.g., internal newsletter or web-site, annual report, advertising campaign, etc.). Day rates and reduced non-profit rates are also available upon request.
For events such as a Wedding, Bar Mitzvah, and Parties, here are some examples to give you ideas of starting prices for packages that can be complimented with print packages, photo albums, and more to meet to your needs:
Event packages include a boxed set of 4x6 print proofs and an online password-protected gallery of images for you to share with event guests and family for at least six months. You and your friends can order professional prints right off the online gallery -- taking all the work out of sharing images with friends and relatives that might love to get prints too. There are also a large variety of other items you can have an image reproduced on, including coffee mugs, aprons, mouse pads, ceramic tiles, puzzles, and more. (You might consider some of these items for a thank you gift for your special guests.)
Additional service add-ons include:
